Tis the season to be jolly, and it is!

We have all been impacted by the pandemic this year. Some of us have suffered having contracted Covid, many have had to care for loved ones, been furloughed, suffered kids at home instead of at school, changed jobs to pay the bills. As for our group’s social schedule for the year… what a huge hit that has taken. I have really missed the social rides and Super Sundays, meeting and chatting with you and I know you all have too.

That said, in between the lockdowns and tiers we have still managed some social riding, still delivered three (well two and a bit), Advanced Riding Courses and put several associates successfully through their tests. All things considered, it is a great result and I thank you all for your help.

I also wish to make a special mention to those of you who have volunteered as Blood Runners. It’s not just emergencies but medication for those who are shielding and delivering essential stock for the NHS. Well done.

So, with that in mind and thinking about what we have achieved, raise a glass and I toast you a very merry Christmas!

Anthony joined ELAM in 2014 on a Honda Varadero after riding for just six months. Since then he’s had two Z1000sx, one of which he still has and he also owns a Transalp. After passing his test he’s led a few social rides, become a LO, treated himself to a few track days and several tours of France. Since 2018 he’s been our Group Chair and now our newest NO.
