Who are ELAM?

ELAM was formed in 1997 with the aim of improving road safety for motorcyclists. Although we focus on the North and East London areas, we always welcome members from elsewhere. Currently we have members as far a field as Cornwall and Anglesey as well as exotic locations like Cambridgeshire, Essex, Kent and Surrey!

Our members are all ages, come from all walks of life and ride all sorts of bikes, from Harleys to Hondas, from CX500’s to 996’s.

We are a non-profit organisation (registered charity No. 1062952/0) run by a committee that is elected annually. Details of the committee can be found on the Contacts page.

While many join simply to pass their IAM RoadSmart tests, we hope that you will remain a member. Therefore we run the group like a club, with an extensive social calendar. We publish a monthly newsletter, organise monthly social meetings, normally with a guest speaker, and have a full calendar of ride-outs to places of interest, using the very best roads along the way.
